The teaching is held in English. Graduate of this bachelor study program obtains basic knowledge of the design, implementation and management of engineering, transport and surface structures. He is led towards creative development of basic theoretical knowledge, understanding of the principles applied in the theory and design of civil engineering and a comprehensive mastery of organizational and technological challenges associated with reliable design and implementation of engineering structures in transport and construction. He will be able to react, adapt and apply the acquired knowledge in the changing conditions of our society, with the aim of maintaining sustainable social development. This tudy can be made in Full-time and Part-time form. It terminates with a civil exam and with the defense of the bachelor thesis. After the completion, the student will obtain the Bachelor degree.

The University of Žilina was established on October 1, 1953 as the College of Railways in Prague. In 1959 the institution changed its name to the University of Transport and moved to Žilina. As a result of the increasing role of communications within the curriculum and research orientation of the University, the name was amended to the University of Transport and Communications in 1980.

Following wide-ranging changes at the beginning of the nineties, it was renamed again to the University of Žilina pursuant to the law passed by the Slovak National Council on November 20, 1996. This change reflected the University’s educational restructuring, which is based on effective theoretical and professional preparation, communications skills, use of information telecommunication technologies, marketing, economics and law emphasizing the future demands of customers.

Žilina - German: Sillein, Hungarian: Zsolna, names in other languages) is a city in north-western Slovakia, around 200 kilometres (120 mi) from the capital Bratislava, close to both the Czech and Polish borders. It is the fourth largest city of Slovakia with a population of approximately 85,000, an important industrial center, the largest city on the Váh river, and the seat of a kraj (Žilina Region) and of an okres (Žilina District). It belongs to Upper Váh region of tourism.

Step 1

Submit a completed online application form, pay the application fee (includes entrance exam fee) and send supporting documents.

The supporting documents are:

• Contract Mediation study (applicant shall sign both copies, which will send with other documents. Agency Dievrinsis send you back one signed original)
• A completed University Application Form
• Curriculum Vitae (CV) - in English
• High School Leaving Certificate (original or verified copy) - two copies required - one for the University and one for the Regional Authority Office. One of the certificates has to be present with an Apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in home country.
• Photocopy of the passport
• Birth certificate
• Two passport-sized photographs
• Proof of application fee payment - bank swift + completed fee transfer form

All these documents must be provided in original or as verified copies (with original stamps and signatures).

Receive a university acceptance/rejection letter or provisional acceptance* letter.

* The provisional acceptance letter means that admission into the University is pending until all documents are submitted and the applicant pays the tuition fee.

If accepted to the University, students must pay the registration fee within 14 days after receiving the letter of acceptance.
