ABOUT STUDY

The teaching is held in English. Researchers in mathematics education are primarily concerned on the tools, methods and approaches that facilitate practice or the study of practice. However mathematics education research, known on the continent of Europe as the didactics or pedagogy of mathematics, has developed into an extensive field of study. The study can be made in full-time or part-time form and it terminates with a state examination and the thesis defense. Graduates receive the PhD. degree.

ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Constantine the Philosopher University (UKF) is a public university founded in 1992 as the University of Education in Nitra which became a successor of Pedagogic Institute established in 1959 and Faculty of Education (1964). University of Education in Nitra has been renamed to UKF in 1996.

The main mission of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is to offer higher education and to develop knowledge on the basis of creative, scientific, and artistic work, as well as to participate in the development of education, science, culture and health of society. Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is an open type of the university which enforces the multicultural principles of the education and offers the own professional profile of a student. The university creates conditions for research of the life and works of Constantine the Philosopher and the Cyril-Methodian tradition.

ABOUT CITY

Nitra ( pronunciation (help·info); German: Neutra ( pronunciation (help·info)); Hungarian: Nyitra / Nyitria [archaic]) is a city in western Slovakia, situated at the foot of Zobor Mountain in the valley of the river Nitra. With a population of about 83,572, it is the fifth largest city in Slovakia.[1] Nitra is also one of the oldest cities in Slovakia and the country's earliest political and cultural center. Today, it is a seat of a kraj (Nitra Region) and an okres (Nitra District).

The Slovak Republic (short form: Slovakia) is a landlocked state in Central Europe. It has a population of over five million and an area of about 49,000 square kilometers. CONDITIONS OF REGISTRATION

  • Highschool leaving certificate
  • Good knowledge of the English language
  • Passing the entrance examination
  • Submission of the online application form with timely payment of fees

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Step 1

Submit a completed online application form, pay the application fee (includes entrance exam fee) and send supporting documents.

The supporting documents are:

  • Contract Mediation study (applicant shall sign both copies, which will send with other documents. Agency Dievrinsis send you back one signed original)
  • A completed University Application Form
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) - in English
  • High School Leaving Certificate (original or verified copy) - two copies required - one for the University and one for the Regional Authority Office. One of the certificates has to be present with an Apostille from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in home country.
  • Photocopy of the passport
  • Birth certificate
  • Two passport-sized photographs
  • Proof of application fee payment - bank swift + completed fee transfer form

All these documents must be provided in original or as verified copies (with original stamps and signatures).

Receive a university acceptance/rejection letter or provisional acceptance* letter.

* The provisional acceptance letter means that admission into the University is pending until all documents are submitted and the applicant pays the tuition fee.

Step 4

If accepted to the University, students must pay the registration fee within 14 days after receiving the letter of acceptance.
