Graduate of this study program commands various levels of English language (phonetic and phonological, morphosyntactic and lexical) and functional styles of the English language in a confrontation with the Slovak language. He also knows the basics of literal disciplinary and literal history of English literature. He will acquire basic procedures, analysis and interpretations of literary text and will know the basic methodologies of selected linguistic and literal scientific schools and directions. Graduate of English language for commercial purpose is eligible to serve as an assistant, personnel, human resource manager, public official, project manager, consultant, marketing assistant, administration officer, cultural worker, worker for public relations and as a worker for non-profit organizations. This study terminates with a theoretical state examination and the thesis defence. Graduates receive the Bc. degree. . ABOUT UNIVERSITYThe Catholic University in Ružomberok is a public university with religious character. The Conference of Slovak Bishops and National Council of the Slovak Republic took part in its foundation. CU performs its activities especially in the areas of the humanities, historical, pedagogical, and social and health sciences, as well as in the areas of art, economics, management, and law. ABOUT CITYRužomberok ( pronunciation (help·info); German: Rosenberg; Hungarian: Rózsahegy; Polish: Rużomberk) is a town in northern Slovakia, in the historical Liptov region. It has a population of around 30,000(45,000 with nearby villages). It is situated at the westernmost reaches of the Sub-Tatra Basin, more exactly its subdivision Liptov Basin, surrounded by the mountain ranges of Chočské vrchy, Greater Fatra and Low Tatras. Rivers flowing through the town are Váh, from east to west, Revúca, a left tributary from the south, on the way to Banská Bystrica and Likavka brook from the north, on the way to Dolný Kubín. The town is located around 65 km from Žilina, 190 km from Košice and 260 km from Bratislava (by road).
